I have seen some interesting mining setups in my day, but to go mining in a Thorax in low security space alone.  That does take some courage or a serious lack of awareness of the dangers.

First rule of your high slots on a ship, fit for what gets a bonus.  On a Thorax, it’s medium hybrid turrets.  Of course, most pirates will have a serious case of ‘eyes bleeding’ when they see the mining lasers on here to say nothing of the 3 Co-Processor I modules in the low slots that should really be replaced with some sort of tank.  A armor plate at least.

Ga'len's New Signature

So, what’s the deal with the Y!HAA and the the cowboy riding the Loki?  It’s a reference to my silliness and a homage to that famous scene from the movie, Dr. Strangelove, where he rides the nuclear weapon into obilivion. In my case the loss of a Loki to an obvious bait trap that I very nonchalantly responded to, “Well, it’s an obvious trap, the next step?  Spring the trap”, and thus I died in a blaze of fail.

Regardless of the inspiration for the banner, I like it and I’m using it from now on.  It’s just cool looking, isn’t it?

His sleeping mind would be awakened by the smell of the trees, that musty freshness that sweetened the air from the morning dew.  It would greet him with the hope that one day, he would be far from this place and living in peace.

The sensor alerts echoed in the distance and moved closer to the front of Ga’len’s mind.  His daydream of memories past was cut short.  Another ship was coming into his hunting area.

Revenge, for my friend, Ga’len grinned his evil grin in his mind, alas, it is afoot now.

The An Bealach an Vaga decloaked quickly, locked it’s weapons and began to open fire.  As the shields of the incoming rifter melted away, sensors dectected more ships appearing in range.

Blast, they were waiting for me this time, Ga’len’s smile was detected by his sensors in his pod.  No matter, to it then!

First was the Rifter frigate.  It closed on his ship quickly, spewing rounds into his shields as it’s warp scrambler locked him down.  Ga’len turned his ship and aligned out to a planet, trying to put distance between him and the closing frigate.  Sensors had detected something unexpected in the rest of the hostile gang.  A Loki and it was closing fast.

As the Loki closed range and engaged it’s warp disruptor, the rifter’s hull gave way to the vacuum of space.  Suddenly, Ga’len’s ship began to move faster, but not as expected.  Yes, the microwarp drive was working, but not as it should.

So, webbed me as well? No matter, I can still outrun you.

The engines of An Bealach an Vaga overloaded and Ga’len lurched forward, moving away from the Loki.  By this point, the Loki was deep into it’s armor and for a split second, Ga’len thought about staying in the fight, but the lack of shields and armor made that decision for him.

As Ga’len moved out of range of the Loki’s warp disruptor, he willed his comms to life.

“Nice trap my friend, well played.  I would taunt you, but I can see from my sensors the 2 interceptors closing in on you and the 3 battle cruisers who just fired on you are more worthy of your attention than I.”

Ga’len warped off towards a planet as the Loki fell prey to the other roaming pirate gang.  All that he could hear on his comms were the threats of revenge from the doomed Loki pilot.

Sometimes, it pays to not be the biggest fish in the pond, Ga’len pondered.

Not to worry, things are in the works, problem is that I have about 10 draft posts on various things that I am working on to talk about.

Here’s one for ya as that I have been toying with for almost 2 years now.  It’s a question that came into my head back when I made a decision to stay in lowsec rather than live in nullsec space and oddly enough, the reverse as well about a year later.

Allow me to indulge in some discussion and if you feel so incline, comment or write a blog post to expand your thoughts, but please don’t let this become a rant-fest about lag.

As there have been many forums posts and blog posts concerning lag, what I would like to talk about how have you actively changed your game play to avoid lag.  I am not talking about tweaking to the game client or staging ships in a system before a fight, I am talking about a directly change in game play decisions to avoid lag .

Do you stay in empire to avoid the lag in low sec combat/faction warfare PvP?  Have you held off on joining a nullsec alliance due to the lag reports from large fleet battles that plague the forums and the blog community?

I personally have lived in every security section of EVE from my beginnings in a 1.0 system all the way to nullsec.  By live, I am not talking about traveling through a system nor a region, I am talking about spending months and in some cases, years in a particular division of highsec, lowsec or nullsec.

I can tell you from my experience,  lag does not discriminate.  It’s just as bad in fleet fights in empire as it’s in nullsec.  Granted, the numbers in the battles in 0.0 are significantly larger, but empire has it’s fair share of 15 minute delays to modules activating when there is only 50 people in system.

Have the lag issues that have been present for years affected my game play?  Yes, I would have to say it has.  I held off for a long time heading out into nullsec due to the recurrent lag issues.  I also made the decision to venture into low sec after CCP made some serious headway into curtailing the lag monster.

Where am I heading with this rambling post?  Well, to understand, first you need to know something about me.  I work in IT for a living.  I support desktop users with issues with Outlook, I also address hardware issues on AS/400′s as well as networks and everything in between.  Lag is, unfortunately, not something limited to the gaming world.  Lag or more accurate, network latency, is a constant problem in the rest of the world.

Don’t think so?  Try accessing a popular website during peak hours of internet usage in your country and compare that to the off hours.  You will see a significant change in performance of that website.

What causes that lag?  Well, many things.  The server load at the web server at that given time, the number of people in your country trying to use the same network infrastructure of the Internet, etc…  It’s a multifaceted issue that for the real world, millions upon millions of dollars are spent each month to try to resolve.

EVE has the same issues. CCP has to resolve the every heavy demands of users consuming more and more network bandwidth, server resources and database storage.  It’s a never ending battle that every technology department in the world struggles with.

It’s a rule of the real universe, Users will always grow to consume 150 percent of the resources you put online at any given time.

You can’t win, you really can’t.  All you can hope to do is come close to the user demand.  CCP has a long way to go to resolve the issues, but they fell into a trap that many IT departments fall into.  They stopped making progress toward meeting those end user demands.  I’m not saying that they were not working on the issue, they just stopped making headway and that’s the real trick.  To keep ahead of the surge.

Lag is a menace of not only the EVE gaming universe, but the entire technological side of our world.  It causes millions of dollars is lost work time due to network delays and/or outages.  It wastes our time at work, at home, in traffic due to traffic signal systems failing, etc…

It’s a fact of life that we all hate and I think that is one of the reasons we all have such passions about encountering lag in EVE.  We deal with it in real life everyday and when someone deters our fantasy life, we just snap.  We all need our creature comforts and then those are snatched away, we turn into our own kind of monsters.

A note here, no, I am not going to discuss the recent epic kestrel that was destroyed in Jita, you know, the one that had 74 PLEX cards in cargo that were lost. There has been enough discussion on this particular fail mail and yes, it will forever be know as the “most epic fail mail of all time”.

For those of you who do not know, this ship is a stealth bomber. About the only thing on this ship that is proper would be the cover ops cloak. Normally a stealth bomber would have siege launchers in the high slots to allow for firing of torpedoes and being that this ship was in null sec, you would also fit a bomb launcher and the appropriate racial ammo for that launcher for maximum damage. The mid slots would have a micro-warp drive at least and the lows would most likely have some damage mods, in this case, ballistics mods for increased rate of fire on your siege launchers.

Am I dead? Oh dear lord, please let me die, this is unbearable, Neresa thought.

“Neresa,” a familiar voice rang in softly in her ears, “Can you hear me?”

Neresa slowly, painfully opened her eyes. She gasped in shock, pain and joy. “GA’LEN! YOU’RE BACK!?”

Ga’len stood bent over to look closely in her eyes. Breanne was at his side, clinging to him as if she was drawing in fear of loosing her mother. “Yes old friend, I am back. You took quite a beating out there, good thing I came along when I did.”

“Mommy!” Breanne threw her arms around Neresa’s neck. She choked a bit and Ga’len managed to pry her arms away.

“Now, now my little Acorn, you need to be careful,” Ga’len continued, “Your mommy is hurt pretty bad, but she will be okay soon. Why don’t you go grab your book from the table over there and read to her so she can rest.”

“Ga’len, thank you,” Neresa’s eyes filled with tears, “I thought I would be in a new clone by now or worse.”

“Don’t you worry, let the doctors fix you up. I’ve taken care of your ship, it will be as good as new in a few days,” Ga’len smirked his evil pirate booty filled wallet smirk, “It was a good trip. I’ll be by later to check on you.”

As Ga’len started for the door, Breanne called, “I’ll take care of mommy Uncle Twig, see you later!”

Elsewhere, in the station hanger, the ground crews were organizing the new arrivals for Ga’len.

“This pirate is nuts, flying such an expensive ship like this,” Murray mumbled as he moved more crates of Republic Fleet EMP ammo into the cargo hold, “This guy is a badass, but he’s just bonkers for risking a ship like this one.”

“Ahem,” Ga’len cleared his throat, “Murray, I thank you for your concern.”

Murray stopped cold in his tracks.

Ga’len continued as he patted Murray’s shoulder, “Of course, you do have a valid point my friend, it is risky to fly such a ship. I’ve lost a Proteus and another Loki already. It hurts, but these ships can do some very useful things. Is the An Bealach an Vaga ready to go?”

Murray relaxed a bit, “Yes sir, it’s fully loaded as you requested, repaired and the rust has been polished.”

Ga’len grinned, “Very good Murray. After you load that crate, call it a day and have a round on me in the bar.”

Ga’len tossed him a isk card with a few thousand isk on it and smiled, “I’m gonna have a little party of my own now.”

Murray chuckled, “May whatever divine being they believe in have mercy on their souls. If I may ask, why head out so soon? Why not stay and join the party?”

“Indeed,” Ga’len agreed, “Indeed, it’s party time, however, I need to stop those who are attacking me and mine. It’s time for me to party Vagabond style!”

So,onto more interesting things. Recently I have engaged in a certain amount of personal fail, strategic cruisers. I took some of my hard earned isk, bought the skill books, hulls, subsystems and modules to they out fits for a Proteus and a Loki.

How did it go? Well, I lost the Proteus to my stupidity and impulsiveness in engaging a neutral raven on a gate. Lost the Loki to an obvious bait trap in a top belt of a low sec system. I was more impressed with the Loki in how well it lasted before succumbing to it’s doom. All I will say is it did die “because of Falcon”.

So, what did I learn? Well, I learned that it’s a good thing I bought two of everything to replace any losses. I also learned that for how I want to be able to fly the ship, the Loki fits me better. After a lot of experimentation and consulting some very sharp alliance mates, I have the fit that I want to use.

Yes, it’s a very expensive vagabond and being a T3 ship with covert ops cloak ability, it is gimped for dps, but the tank more than makes up for it.

Will this become my main ship that I fly? No, it won’t be. It will be that shiny expensive ship that I will take out every now and again. Strategic cruisers, for this solo roamed, are just too expensive and not really worth the money in the long run, at least as I see it.

What do you think? Do you think I should look at other options, perhaps the Tengu or the Legion? What changes would you do to the fit I am using?

THREADNAUGHT

I can’t say I am shocked by recent events. I called this back when I was posting about how Dominion was potentially an NGE event. It seems that the quality of EVE Online has fallen since that expansion considerably.

Many people are angry and want answers but more importantly, we want accountability, honesty and ultimately our beloved game fixed.

So, am I going to rant about it here?  No, I just can’t bring myself to rake them over the coals. I can’t. If an army fails to take a beachhead, who is to blame? The generals who were leading that army.

Good leadership and organization comes from the top down and that’s who you blame when the advance fails. The soldiers may be smart, but they have to follow orders and when those orders are faulty, objectives are not achieved.

Look, if CCP is to succeed and find a way out of this mess, they need to realize that they have bitten off more than they can chew. They need help. It’s obvious that they simply do not have the resources to fix the current game play issues and release the Incarna/Dust expansions that they need for cash flow.

CCP, you have a time honored tradition of doing things differently, perhaps it’s time to get back to those roots. You need help from both a business standpoint and a technical one.

Let us, the community, help you. We are one of the greatest gaming communities out there and we are so angry because we are eager to continue be part of something that we together have spent many years building.

The CSM has people who are very business savvy. Mynxee and her in game friend Venom Orchid have collectively forgotten more about how to run a business than you will ever know. Talk to them, listen to their words and do what they are telling you. They have more to offer you than you can see.

At the FanFests, you are always telling use how impressed you are with the multitude of third party applications that exist, such as the EVE Dev billboards, EVEmon and Capsuleer. Obviously you have a number of technically capable people who like to spend time coding on EVE related applications. Get these people to sign an NDA, send them the code and let them have at it. It might surprise you what they can produce.

If you clicked the link for the kill mail, you can see, this poor soul did not stand much of a chance against this gang. For those of you who do not see the main issue here, take a look at the low and medium slots. He has a shield and armor tank fitted. This works well if you are trying to create a bait ship for the sake of loosing it to get kills, but at a normal use ship, this would be considered fail as more than one tanking method is being employed.

So, congratulations to Ukiyo e for our first Fail Mail Friday submission. As being the selected for this week’s fail mail, he will receive the whopping 2,900 isk for the Shield Recharger I that was fitted on this mail.

Neresa’s thoughts stopped wandering as she approached the next stargate on her patrol. The gate begun to activate as she approached and her comms gear began to show more and more activity.

Damn, she thought, local spike and I am too far from the gate. Time to cloak up and wait it out.

As she willed her cloaking device to activate, one of the incoming ships appeared off her starboard bow. Unfortunately it was too close to her and her cloak shorted out against the other ship’s shields.

Alarms in her mind informed her that she was being targeted by her new neighbor in space. She willed her engines to life and engaged her micro warp drive, burning as fast as she could towards the star gate.

More alarms in her mind let her know that her shields were gone, her armor was almost gone and she was now webbed and warp scrambled. It would seem that she would be using that hat Breanne gave her a few days ago, her new clone with be without any hair. Such is the life of the Capsuleer, constant conflicts between practicalities and fashion.

As her armor continued to evaporate, she saw the stargate flash as another ship came into the system. Suddenly, all the incoming fire on her ship stopped.

The Buzzard class covert ops frigate she was flying was badly damaged and only one of the external camera drones was responding. As she willed the view to rotate around towards her attackers, she could see why her death was delayed.

Flying at high speeds and firing all it’s guns was a lone Vagabond class Minmatar heavy assault ship. Explosion after explosion rocked the view from her camera drone as each of her attackers simply evaporated away into the inky black void.

Soon, the only things on her scanner and in the camera drone’s view were numerous pieces of ship debris and this Vagabond as it came about and closed in on her wounded ship.

Neresa feared the end. She was helpless as this menacing ship closed the distance. Her scanner alarms went off as her ship was again target locked and she saw a single drone launch from the Vagabond and close in on her.

So, a slow death it is to be, eh? Neresa closed her eyes in her mind and waited for the end.

Suddenly, her ship’s status reports showed that her armor was slowing increasing in integrity. Neresa felt as if she snapped her head around in attention in her pod. She checked and double checked the status of her armor. Slowly, ever so slowly it was being repaired.

Then, her comms began a slow crackle and they tried to will themselves to life.

“Neresa? Are you still there?” The voice was distorted from all the damage to most of her internal ships systems, she was in bad shape, “I only have one armor repair drone, it’s doing what it can for you, but you need to get out of here. Approach the gate and hold until I send you an all clear, I will scout you through and back home.”

She still could not identify who this kind person was, the signal distortion was too high due to the damage to her ship. Slowly, ever so slowly, her wounded frigate inched towards the stargaze. She could see the Vagabond jump into the next system. A few moments later, her comms sprang to life again, “All clear,” said the voice.

She jumped and soon found herself in space in Lisbaetanne again. On her port quarter was the Vagabond, deploying it’s armor repairing drone again.

“Warp to the CAS station, I’ll meet you in the hanger,” again, this mystery voice echoed in her mind. As her ship began it’s acceleration into warp, she saw the repair drone again return to the Vagabond and his ship joined her in warp and soon they both approached the docking ports on the CAS station.

After she docked, the automatic systems in the hanger extracted her pod and upon disconnection from the internal systems, Neresa promptly blacked out.

Crayzkinux has posted a response to our questions, but I am simply in shock. Rather than continue to speak to a brick wall, I posted one comment on his post which of course, may or may not show up.  Yes, there is a deleted comment from me already there, I wanted to correct for typos.

I have never asked you to help me “get in” with CCP nor do I have that desire. I have asked you one, simple question, over a year ago, and you refused to answer.

Did CCP initiate contact and ask you to run the contests?

You are the ONLY person who refuses to disclose that relationship. I applaud you for taking the time to respond, but yet again, you refuse to disclose the nature of your relationship with CCP.

It’s not a hard question to answer. Heck, Roc of Roc’s Ramblings could answer it as well as everyone who has run a contest. Why can’t him? I leave this up to you.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHT ADDED AFTER POST WAS PUBLISHED:

One final thought. If I am this power hungry person CK makes me out to be in his post, ask yourself, why did I turn over the OPML download work to Mandrill?

Mandrill drops me a line one day, says he’s working on a concept on how to maintain an OPML listing and shares with me what he would like to do. I told him I thought it was awesome and asked how I could help him. I sent him my current listing, introduced him to Black Claw at EVEBloggers.com and shared with him both how we kept each other updated on changes to the listings

After a few weeks I handed over the OPML to Mandrill, he was and still is doing one hell of a job. Do be sure to thank him for his hard work.

I don’t see myself as a leader of this community CK, I see myself as a member. Always have and always will. I don’t want to control everyone nor do I have any aspirations to “be you” nor to be the news breaking journalist of all things CCP. I want to write and to be able to have faith in those who do lead this community. I will always be the first person to say you have done a lot of hard work for us all, but you refused to answer my simple question over a year ago and with this public now, you still refuse.

I had faith in you, trust that you had this communities best interests at heart.  I still feel that at heart you do have everyone’s best interests at heart, but I do question your honesty at times.

I know, it seems that my question seems a bit small in the grand scheme of things and perhaps it is, but to me, knowing the answer removes any doubt in my mind of your intentions and motivations.  The fact that you continue to refuse, for over a year, to put this question to rest, doesn’t instill fury in me.  It disappoints me.  Your the “blog father”, fathers  are, as you well know, honest with their children.

On to more interesting items.

Many of you have asked, am I back?  In a word yes.  I am back from my break.  I will be spending more time once again playing EVE Online and blogging about EVE.  Non-game related topics will continue on my other blog.

Since I have come back to EVE, I will be doing a few things differently.  Before I left, Mandrill had begun work on maintaining an OPML file for the community. Many of you have asked me if I would be picking up those activities if I returned.  Honestly, I don’t see a need to.  Mandrill is doing a wonderful job, he wanted to work the OPML for some time prior to my taking a break and being an IT person, I usually like to not fix things that are not broken.

Our community has a history of stepping up and taking care of itself.  Mandrill has done just that.  Of course, as I come across new blogs, I’m sending both him and Black Claw of EVEBloggers.com messages with new blogs as we had been exchanging in the past.

It’s been a long while we have had a podcast from Winterblink and the Warp Drive Active crew. One of the segments that used to tickle my funny bone was the Fail Mail segment. Urban and Winterblink would both exchange a kill mail that displayed errors in fitting selections and they would decide between the two which was the worst.

I’d like to start that sort of thing up again here. So, this is how it will work. You canl email a link to the kill you think is worthy of a Fail Mail title to me in game.  For clarification, the in game name is spelled Ga’len with the subject Fail Mail. Each Friday I will share with everyone one of the fail mails that will be randomly selected. As your prize for your efforts in addition to receiving name recognition on this blog will be the in game isk value of the cheapest low slot module. Prize isk is provided by me and me alone as this is my gig for now

Eligible kills will only include kills from the month of June 2010 onwards. Kills that were part of Hulkageddon will not be eligible this year as many of those fail mails have already made it out there on various forums. Future Hulkageddons will be eligible.

As for his accusations that I’m being used by CCP to put forth contests on my blog I’ll say this: in some cases CCP came to me, in others I came to them. But it always been about pointing the spotlight at other EVE Bloggers. Letting “them” win cool EVE swag and having a great time doing so. Is that a crime? How is this malicious on my part?

CK, this is a cool ninja edit, one that was long over due. If only you had answered this a year ago, all this drama could have been avoided.

Thank you for finally answering this question. To answer your two questions, no, it’s not a crime and no, it’s not malicious.

I would suggest that in the future when you run a contest, just let us know if you are doing it on your own or if CCP asks you, okay? If CCP is shelling free prizes, they should get credit for throwing that money at us, right?

Heck, if you are running it on your own and need help with prizes, let us know. I’ll gladly chip in because as you say, it’s about the community.

Do remember what I said in my last post, I would come back for visits. For those in my alliance, they have seen more of me over the past few days and those of you who have fallen prey to my guns in game, feel free to add to your bio, “Killed on a Wandering Druid Visit”. Perhaps I should come back and conduct a campaign to have replace the bunnies with that little bit of text, hmm…

Now I’ve received a number of requests for comments concerning the recent CSM meeting minutes and the apparent response from CCP or mainly their lack of useful response as the players see it. I am sorry, but I am not going into a discussion on this topic. Mynxee, Teadaze and the EVE forums have plenty of commentary on this topic and as I said on my personal blog, I have nothing good to say about CCP on this and thus I will not comment. So there is no confusion however, I do agree with the valid opinions voiced by the player base on CCP’s failures as of late, I do hope they will listen to their stakeholders and that’s all I will say on this matter. CCP, please give me something positive to say, you have such great potential and we are eager to love you!

More controversy? Sure, why not. Some of you were smart enough to link the name listed in the Creative Commons license for this blog with a Twitter account that made some comments concerning CK’s recent blog banter topic. Yes, it was me calling out CK’s lameness when I agreed with Casiella’s Twitter update. In a rare occurrence, I actually received the writing topic email directly from him CK than by a third party and I was yet underwhelmed and unsurprised with the lameness and obvious uber fanboi attitude of this man yet again. He really does redefine how much of a marketing ‘tool’ he really is.

If you don’t see how he seems to always try to steer public opinion in CCP’s favor when things are looking bad for CCP, you have my pity. You play EVE Online, you are all smarter than that.

I kept quiet for three years so that this community could grow and grown it has. It’s stronger than ever and he insults intelligence of all of you when he tries to control what you write about. You are all better writers than he will ever be, don’t cheapen yourself by becoming the unpaid positive marketing tools of CCP. Speak your mind but don’t blindly follow him because you want web traffic to your blog. Stand on your own merits, you will be surprised how well you do and you will realize that you don’t need him.

Don’t think so? Well, tell me, how is Hulkageddon III doing? Very well from the lastl time I checked. How’s EVEBloggers.com doing? Also, very well. What about Mandrils OPML work? Again, outstandingly well. Tweetfleet? Twittering away beautifully.

So, you don’t agree with me here? That’s fine. I don’t mind one bit. Go ahead, speak your mind on this one, but don’t respond because you are Mindless CK minion. Think about why this angers you. Is it because someone is speaking poorly about another or is it because you want to defend the person who helps you get web traffic to your blog by directing your writing topics. Be sure that you really understand your reasons for responding.

Put simply, I am not really having any fun anymore. I’ve been playing for over four years now and I have enjoyed most of my time, but I honestly can’t seem to find a reason to keep playing.

No reason at all, save one. The people I have met in game.

EVE Online has one of the best gaming communities I have had the honor of knowing. I’ve been here through a lot of history, both in game and out, both good and bad on both fronts.

I wish everyone the best of luck in game and in real life. I won’t forget the friends I’ve made over the years and I do promise, I will stop by from time to time and visit.

For now, I will take my leave and take a much needed break from our fun little New Eden.

“You’re leaving?”, a small voice crept through the room. Breanne was standing there in the door.

Ga’len looked up from his terminal and saw the child. He got up, walked over to her and knelt on one knee to look her in the eyes.

“It’s okay, I am leaving on another voyage”, he reached over and scooped her up in his arms, “my little acorn, I will be back soon enough.”

“I know, I just always get a little sad when you leave. I miss you.” Breanne hugged Ga’len and he walked back over to his chair and sat down.

“Here, take a look at this. It’s the route I am planning on taking.” Ga’len pointed to a very complex route through the universe charts.

“Wow, you may be visiting some interesting places. So, do you promise to send me messages? Will you bring me something from your travels?”

Ga’len looked into Breanne’s eyes, smiles and said, “Yes my acorn. I will write to you and I promise to return with gifts.”

Breanne hugged Ga’len, got down from his lap and walked out the door. She turned as she reached the threshold and spoke in a calm, clear voice, “I will miss you.  Neresa and Aunt Leainati will miss you.  We all will.”

Ga’len got up from his chair walked over to Breanne and hugged her again.  Tears filled his eyes as he spoke, “I will miss all of you too.  I promise to stop by when I can.  Take care my little one.”

He let Breanne go from their warm embrace and she left.  Ga’len finished packing his things and loaded the cargo crates aboard his Vagabond.

Over the past few days, he had heard the Call of Ancient Whispers.  The call to be true to himself and his ways of wandering about the universe.  Making friends was always a good thing and spending good time with them ever better, but a seeker of the truths of life has to accept that their journey never ends.

It was time.  He was ready to begin his next journey into the unknown.
