Over the past few weeks since the summer ended, traffic coming through the pocket has been slow. Now, for most people, that would not be an issue, but when you are a shivering timbers yarr machine pirate, it makes for a dull evening.
So, what do you do? You setup a scout and get your smartbombing ship and make sure you catch all the traffic that comes through.
How does this work? Well, you find a gate that is traveled in low sec and put your smartbombing ship in line between the two gates so that when the incoming ship drops out of warp, you can hit it with 8 large smartbombs and with luck, all of them will hit the incoming ship and pop it.
A destroyer with a rep running will get through, but shuttles, noob ships and inteceptors stand a good chance of getting popped.
Why would you do this? For the challenge of the timing of the kill. For the pretty explosions. And for this, the loot (http://www.eve-druid.com/kb/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=15068).
This tactic works well for catching traffic when you are camping all on your own.

Remember, you have to tank the gate sentries as well. A Hurricane will hard pressed to perma-tank. Use a BS if you can. The Megathron works well, I use the setup below. I can perma run both reps and tank the sentries just fine. When traffic comes through, I stop one of the reps or both and fire off the bombs.
