Whew, what a week! All kinds of stuff going in all corners of New Eden. Here’s some of what we have:
- Mynxee announced that she is stepping down as the CEO of Hellcats/Hellfleet. We in the alliance are saddened by her departure, but anyone who has been in alliance leadership knows that there comes a time when you need a break from the workload and make no mistake, it’s like a second job. She’s gone off to join NOIR for PvP fun. We all are wishing her the best of luck in her new adventure.
- Myrhial Arkenath wrote a wonderful observation post on The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People in EVE. It’s a great read for anyone who is new to playing EVE Online as well as us old, crusty vets.
- Roc over Roc’s Ramblings has a really cool storyline unfolding, head over and join in the fun!
- Rettic continues to mix music for our enjoyment. He’s released the Stationside Suite, enjoy!
- Lumenarious Rex over at A Scout’s Domain has written a great guide on making bookmarks, a must read for everyone!
- Larkonis Trassler has made a proposal in the CSM Assembly hall that is worth reading. He is asking CCP remove a game object from the Uemisaisen gate, that being a ruined station. He states that it negatively impedes game play given it’s present location. Head over to the thread and offer you support, he’s got a valid point on this issue and it needs to be addressed not only in this location but potentially others gates throughout EVE..
- Speaking of gates, EVE Gate, the “spacebook” part of the next expansion has gone live in it’s alpha test stage. Head over and check it out. Do keep in mind it’s an alpha version, that means that it’s buggy and very incomplete.
- CSM 5 is ramping up with the opening to announce one’s candidacy starting today.
- As always, update work for the blogs listed on The EVE Online Portal and the OPML download files Mandrill and I maintain continues.
See you out there!

Work has been keeping me busy and getting things ready for the holidays at home has taken a good amount of my free time. It’s been a busy week in EVE as well as many people are getting ready for the Dominion expansion to go live in less than 2 weeks now.
December 1st is patch day. So, everyone, sort out your training plans, remember to set a long skill on Sunday, November 28th and go Christmas shopping. We are all getting a break from EVE for a day or so, take advantage of it. Spend some time offline, buy that special someone a nice meal for dinner and enjoy the break.
This week’s highlights:
- Upcoming sovereignty changes continue to be discussed on the EVE forums, through additional Dev blogs and the EVE Blogging community. You can read all the articles on this shared items page (yes, I do love Google Reader).
- It’s been a while since I tinkered with Sniper drone fits, Gremond reminded me of that fun with his recent blog post (http://gremrod.blogspot.com/2009/11/drone-sniper-fit.html)
- EVE-Mag.com has had a great series of episoded in a wonderful work of fan-fiction, Vengeance of the State. Head over and read this story, it’s really entertaining.
- The CSM elections end on the 26th, be sure to go vote!
- Our beloved Lord Makk of the Ushra’Khan has released some entertainment for the masses, head over to the EVE Forums Thread for links and comments.

something…there, I said something. Yeah, not much there, right?
I have a problem. A lot of people both in and out of game have been asking me about a particular CSM candidate. People have been commenting on his EVE Forum thread in the CSM section. Some of these comments have been very ‘rough’ and calling out various truths about this individual.
I am aware of what has been said and I honestly did not want to contribute to the discussion. A friend and I were discussing the thread Friday evening and I have been quoted on why I’ve not contributed to the discussion. I am not very happy that I was quoted on the thread, but as her post states, I did not say that I was speaking “off the record”. Needless to say, I am not pleased but it’s my own fault for not ensuring that I was speaking off the record.
I honestly don’t care if this individual runs for the CSM. I could care less. His publicly documented lack of integrity, honor and blatant illegal activities in the real world are more than enough to put any chances of this individual actually winning a seat on the CSM on par with a snowball surviving in the depths of hell for an extended period of time.
I have the faith that EVE Online community is smart enough to understand that this individual has no place representing the EVE player’s collective interests. I have faith in the community that they know he can not be trusted regardless of which corporation and/or alliance he currently enjoys membership. It is a bit shocking that his current alliance did not do the research on this individual to know what they brought into the midst, but I am sure they will learn how much of a problem they have brought into the fold. Perhaps they have plans to hang him out to dry and he’s not aware of how he is being played in game as he has done to so many people who trusted him. That would be some fitting justice.
For everyone who has urged me to stand up and actively speak out against this individual, I do thank you all for your support, however, I will not allow this person to continue to impact my game time nor my real life. This post will be all I will be willing to day as he’s simply not worth any other effort.
Enough said, now, go vote for the other candidates who are worthy of your attention.

It’s Friday the 13th and unlike so many people, I have always maintained that it’s a day of true and utter luck. Don’t think so? Well, tell this fellow who won $26 million dollars on Friday, March 13th, 2009 (http://www.1010wins.com/pages/4076203.php?). So yes, I will buy my real world lottery ticket. I’ll even chuck another 10 mil to Chribba for his mothership lottery. I can’t fly it, but I sure can sell it to a alliance mate!

Work and stuff at home have kept me rather busy this week, but I did find a few gems in the rough.
- “The Sky is falling….” For those of you who do not know, Godlesswanderer runs a great blog over at Articulated Sky (http://articulatedsky.com). He’s a decent writer and a whiz with graphic design. He’s made signatures and posters for many people in the EVE Community. Recently he announced that he will be closing his site down on the 12th of December (http://articulatedsky.com/2009/11/05/shutting-down-soon) as things are a bit tough on the financial front. He’s a bit down in the dumps about the whole thing, why not stop by and try to cheer him up.
- CCP Games put a new marketing website for EVE Online. Head over to http://getaclone.com. It’s a decent Flash based site, brings the immersion factor up a notch. It was inspiration for a quick episode of The Bleeding Rose, http://www.eve-druid.com/on-the-wings-of-angels.
- Over at The EVE Online Portal we added 5 new blogs to the OPML Download bringing the total of blogs to 458! Head over and bookmark the Latest Blogs! page (http://www.evebloggers.com/latest-blogs) to keep to date on our new members of the EVE Blogging Community.

- The Planet Risk show had a nice episode with a few of the hopefuls for the next CSM debating on various topics, head over to (http://www.planetriskshow.com/episode-9) and have a listen.
- While reading old posts on the EVE forums, I came across this small collection of EVE related themes for Windows 7. I found this high on the cool factor as I’ve recently upgraded my laptop and reloaded my desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium. (http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=967784)
- The latest EVE novel, EVE: The Burning Life is available for preorder on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/EVE-Burning-Life-Hjalti-Danielsson/dp/0765325292/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257517238&sr=1-1).
- Remember that wonderful backdrop on the main stage at Fanfest that everyone wants as a screensaver? Well, it’s supposed to be out after Dominion. Keep an eye on this thread on the EVE forums for updates, http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1193324&page=3#69.
- CCP released new details on the upcoming Sovereignty System changes. You can read the Dev Blog and the Responses. Just initially going over the numbers, a developed system will cost roughly 2 billion isk a month to maintain. Please point out a small alliance that is trying to get into 0.0 that can afford 2 billion isk a month. There aren’t any. I simply don’t see how this is going to make people want to go to 0.0 space when they can earn the same amount of isk in Empire space with less effort. Go read the forums on this as the responses are very interesting and mostly against the upcoming changes.
See you out there!!!
