That’s right folks.  For people in the USA, the Daylight Savings time changes is on Sunday, March 14 at 2 am.  Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hour.

Here’s your weekly highlights for this week.

• HellFleet continues it’s fun with a recent heist of assets from a high sec pos.  Valarissa returned from a break, shooting things with us on a roam.  Much fun ensued.
• Rettic over at Rettic’s Log is working on his musical talents.  He’s mixed two different soundtracks for your listening pleasure while you play EVE Online.  Head over and check out his collections, Sounds for Flying.  They are really cool to listen to!
• CCP gave us a nice dev blog on some of the fun with Planetary Interaction that is coming in the next expansion.
• Although I am no longer a member of Ushra’Khan, I do keep up on what’s going with the War in Providence.  I’ll keep adding information as it comes my way.
• More people updated us with what their EVESpace looks like.
• Alexander Gianturco AKA The Mittani gave a presentation at the GDC 2010 this year.  I am looking for a copy of his presentation online.  If anyone has it, please link it in the comments, I would be interested in watching.
• As always, update work for the blogs listed on The EVE Online Portal and the OPML download files Mandrill and I maintain continues.  Mandrill has an update coming around March 21, so keep your eyes open for that update.

My location was D-GTMI.  It was a major fight for sov.  I was one of the dreadnought pilots in the -A- joint fleet.  Infrastructure Hub comes out of re-enforced and I disconnect due to excessive lag.  For the next 35 minutes I try to log back in, finally get back in and my dread has 10 percent structure left.  I can’t active my armor rep and I disconnect promptly again.  I try to log back in again and currently, it’s been another 30 minutes, staring at the character selection screen, entering game as Ga’len.

So, CCP, what has happened to your quality of your game? This is what we are to expect from the “Game of the Year for 2009″?  Spending over 1 hour to log back into a node and not be able to do anything?

It’s a valid question given the continual crashes of nodes in nullsec, the forums and of course, Tranquility itself.

Ever since Dominion went live, EVE Online has had serious failures with continual node crashes and excessive lag.  The server stability has been akin to a house of cards.  Simply look at it hard and it all falls down.

Now, since Dominon patch 1.1 has gone live, these problems have increased an order of magnitude.  EVE Online used to be a quality game.  What happened?

That’s the question I am putting to the community and more importantly, CCP.  Telling us that you are having a database issue is not the answer that the community needs to hear.  Your stakeholders need to hear the details.  You do remember them right?  Everyone who plays EVE Online is a stakeholder.  You keep reminding us of that fact at each FanFest.

So, as one of your stakeholders, I am asking you CCP, what has happened at CCP that has reduced the level of quality to this abysmal level?

You are walking down the path of SOE.  You are making the same mistakes that were made with Star Wars Galaxies or at least, that is what we are seeing since you refuse to communicate in a meaningful and valid way with your player base.

Stop ignoring us, your stakeholders.  Tell us what is going on.  Tell us the details of what is broken.  We have a collective technical capiblity in our award winning community to create great solutions to problems.  Look at all the third party applications out there.  We have created some truly wonderful things that work well.  We can help, let us for crying out loud.

I am seriously rethinking my investment choices for 2010, both time and money.  Unless we start seeing some valid communication from CCP with the details of why their flagship product has fallen into this sorry state of affairs and some genuine resolution to the problems that have effectively left 0.0 game play as playable as a rock stuck in your shoe, I urge anyone considering EVE online to pay attention and really consider your choices carefully.

Am I being a bit harsh?  Perhaps I am.  The game I love to play, that I spend time writing about and spend time supporting it’s community has become shit-sauce in a failure bottle and that honestly is a disappointment of epic proportions.

This coming weekend and the next and then we are at Christmas.  Can you believe it?  It’s been a busy month and a lot is going on.

• Dominoin 1.0.2 was deployed, Patch Notes reveal that the Stargate Blockade Units were seeded as planned.  The grace period for Sov was extended to December 15th.
• We added more blogs to the OPML and The EVE Online Portal, check out the newest additions!
• Roc of Roc’s Ramblings continues his Advent Celebration series.
• Many of our fellow bloggers continue to write interesting posts on the EVE Online Expansion:  Dominion.
• CCP promised us the screen saver that they used as the backdrop at FanFest.  It’s not been released yet, but a very nice screensaver with Dominoin screenshots and music has been release, check it out!
• 54,181.  That’s the new PCU record as of 12-8-2009.  Congratulations CCP!
• Luminus Aardokey of Split Infinity Radio and the Planet Risk Podcast has proposed the creation of a shared bookmarks tool in the Jita Assembly Hall.  Head over and support this initiative today!
• Rettic wrote a wonderful back story for his character, READ IT!
• And to round out the list this week, check out yet another awesome kill by a Warrior of the Ushra’khan.  Yes, it’s a T3 Strategic Cruiser popped something almost unheard of.

Is you are reading this, then it’s apparent that you have woken up from your food induced coma. 

For those of you who do not know, Thanksgiving is a holiday here in the USA.  It’s a celebration of the founding of the colony in Plymouth, Massachusetts and what started the long road to the creation of the United States of America.

It is a day in which families and friends come together and enjoy each others company.  Well, it’s what’s supposed to happen anyway.

something…there, I said something.  Yeah, not much there, right?

I have a problem.  A lot of people both in and out of game have been asking me about a particular CSM candidate.  People have been commenting on his EVE Forum thread in the CSM section.  Some of these comments have been very ‘rough’ and calling out various truths about this individual.

I am aware of what has been said and I honestly did not want to contribute to the discussion.  A friend and I were discussing the thread Friday evening and I have been quoted on why I’ve not contributed to the discussion.  I am not very happy that I was quoted on the thread, but as her post states, I did not say that I was speaking “off the record”.  Needless to say, I am not pleased but it’s my own fault for not ensuring that I was speaking off the record.

I honestly don’t care if this individual runs for the CSM.  I could care less.  His publicly documented lack of integrity, honor and blatant illegal activities in the real world are more than enough to put any chances of this individual actually winning a seat on the CSM on par with a snowball surviving in the depths of hell for an extended period of time.

I have the faith that  EVE Online community is smart enough to understand that this individual has no place representing the EVE player’s collective interests. I have faith in the community that they know he can not be trusted regardless of which corporation and/or alliance he currently enjoys membership. It is a bit shocking that his current alliance did not do the research on this individual to know what they brought into the midst, but I am sure they will learn how much of a problem they have brought into the fold.  Perhaps they have plans to hang him out to dry and he’s not aware of how he is being played in game as he has done to so many people who trusted him.  That would be some fitting  justice.

For everyone who has urged me to stand up and actively speak out against this individual, I do thank you all for your support, however, I will not allow this person to continue to impact my game time nor my real life.  This post will be all I will be willing to day as he’s simply not worth any other effort.

Enough said, now, go vote for the other candidates who are worthy of your attention.
