Mandrill over at I am Keith Neilson has created a new animal.
It’s cool, it’s fresh and worthy of a big thank you for what he is working to do.
He’s has a OPML file that only contains active blogs. WOOT!
It’s streamlined and has constant maintenance to adjust for blogs that are no longer active so that you will always have access to fresh content. He will be rotating our old blogs that are no longer active, that is, blogs that have not had a post made over a set period of time.
Why do this? Well, OPML files grow over time with more and more blogs and you get to the point that managing such a large file becomes very time intensive. Maintaining a OPML that only has active bloggers in it provides for a better reading experience. It’s also gentler on the RSS reader as it doesn’t have to check hundreds of blogs that have no updates. Google Reader will thank you.

As for the OPML file I used to maintain, I will continue to do so, however, this file is more of an archive of EVE blogs, both active and quiet. It’s nice to read the old blogs from time to time for perspective, older guides that are still useful, etc.

This is my blogroll or website listing. It’s broken out in categories.
If you are looking for my listing of EVE Player Blogs, I have removed my listing as it was a duplicate of the many listings that exist. Trying to keep all this separate lists in sync was a lot of work for everyone and it simply did not make sense. So, to find the most up to date listing centralized listing, head over to The EVE Online Portal at http://www.evebloggers.com.

I have said it many times, the EVE forums has degenerated into a cesspool of garbage. Why do I read the forums? Well, it’s a lot like a train wreck. I can’t seem to take my eyes away. Why you may ask? Well, I look for signs of hope. Every now and again , I am rewarded with my efforts.
MercenaryMuffin has started a journey that I am looking forward to reading (http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=945475). After a year of playing EVE, he has lost his purpose, so, he had found a new purpose, to become a tourist. Yes, I believe that we may have out first true follower of the Church of INNOMINATE NIGHTMARE ( http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/INNOMINATE_NIGHTMARE_(Character) ).
I will not ruin his story telling with revealing spoilers, you will have to go and read for yourself as it’s a must read He has setup a blog after a suggestion by yours truly, check it out!!

There are a great number of EVE player blogs out there. I am amazed of how the number has grown over the years.
For everyone’s convenience, Alexia has a wonderful service, The EVE Online Portal (http://www.evebloggers.com). This website aggregates all the RSS feeds for every blog in EVE Online.
I personally like to read things in a reader, makes it easier to get everything at once. Fortunately, most blogs have RSS support, so, I can get my EVE Blog fix in my favorite RSS reader.
I used to maintain an OPML file with all the blogs I found as I wandered around the web. I maintained this file for the community for over 2 years. In that time, the OPML file has grown and grown to over 500 live sites. Unfortunately, not all of those blogs are active blogs. Some have not seen any new posts in literally years.
Mandrill over at I am Keith Neilson maintains a different sort of animal. He has a OPML file that only contains active blogs. It’s streamlined and has constant maintenance to adjust for blogs that are no longer active so that you will always have access to fresh content.
