Fail Mails as they are known, are kills of ships that display serious errors in judgment in way of how to fit particular ship. In EVE Online, pirates have celebrated the tradition of sharing with other pirates such examples of poorly fitted ships while on roams, gate camps or other operations where there is an amount of free time not engaging targets.
As this can be an item of ridicule for some, i see it as an opportunity to try to understand why some people fit their ships in such fashion. We all had to start learning how to fit our ships somewhere.
Fail Mail Fridays is an attempt to do two things. First, to share with the community a potential source of humor in way of a utter failure of a ship fitting. Second, to host a discussion of why the fitting is considered a failure and hopefully, some constructive feedback on what would have been a better way to fit the killed ship in question for the task it was intended to be utilized.

It was only a matter of time. In my case, it was less than 30 minutes after the servers came back up and I received my first medal, part of the Quantum Rise expansion.
Some back story is needed here. A fellow corp mate was playing around with his Carrier, toying with some of our war targets. Everything was fine, he was laughing about the engagement. Then the tone of his voice in went from playful to panic.
“Guys, uhm, HELP!!!”
We make out best speed to assist him and in the end, we were successful. Needless to say, he was very happy to not have lost his carrier.
When I logged into EVE last night, I had received a medal:
I am honored to have received a medal, but the “Star of Manlove”? Yeah, we are a fun bunch in our corp. We like to shock each other with “lolz” moments.
