It was only a matter of time. In my case, it was less than 30 minutes after the servers came back up and I received my first medal, part of the Quantum Rise expansion.
Some back story is needed here. A fellow corp mate was playing around with his Carrier, toying with some of our war targets. Everything was fine, he was laughing about the engagement. Then the tone of his voice in went from playful to panic.
“Guys, uhm, HELP!!!”
We make out best speed to assist him and in the end, we were successful. Needless to say, he was very happy to not have lost his carrier.
When I logged into EVE last night, I had received a medal:
I am honored to have received a medal, but the “Star of Manlove”? Yeah, we are a fun bunch in our corp. We like to shock each other with “lolz” moments.
So, what kind of medals have you received so far? Any ideas for some fun medals to give to your fellow corp mates?

I have not received any. I hope someone in my corp or alliance makes on up, as it would be a nice gesture.
I’d love to see an RPing medal. “The Minmatar Cross” or something like that.

I created the Margaret Mae “Nutmeg” Hughes Award, for outstanding performance in the role of sicarius/sicaria for the Ralpha Dogs, and bestowed the honor on Selena. The only bad thing is, EVE doesn’t allow quotes in medal names, so I had to make it the “Margaret Mae -Nutmeg- Hughes Award.”
(“Sicarius” or “sicaria” is our term for a member specializing in corporate security. It’s also from The Cunning Blood, and is derived from the Latin for “assassin.” Margaret Mae Hughes, alias Nutmeg, was a notable sicaria for the Ralpha Dogs in that novel.)
I shudder to think, though, what’ll happen when Lexx gets her hands on that feature…I’m going to wind up looking like one of those tinpot South American dictators.
