“You travel far enough and…” | The Wandering Druid of Tranquility

…you will meet yourself.”  That’s the quote, the saying of old.

No, I have not met myself in EVE, but I did find something I was not expecting.

I was running some plexes in our nullsec space.  It was a quite Sunday evening for me and I wanted to grind away for some isk.  I scan down a plex, warp in and I find this floating in space:

I am thinking, what is this, some kind of new asteroid layout for plex sites?  I click on the object and I begin to laugh.  I can’t believe what I am seeing.  I check the info and this is what I see:

Yup, Stonehenge in Space.  I fell out of my chair laughing.  For over three years this Druid has wandered through New Eden and finally, I find the standing stones of the ancients, floating in space.

Hats off to CCP, this little gem is well placed in my humble opinion, but I may be biased.

See you out there!

Heheh, I remember stumbling onto this in a mission many moons ago as well. I wonder if they make things to a brief or if the order is just to “make pretty things in deadspace” and it ends up getting named after.

I always think there will be some story behind these artifacts at some point. Would be cool to see.

Them appearing in deadspace makes it a tad harder to implement them in the lore, artifacts don’t tend to randomly spawn.

I don’t have many illusions I cling to. Let me have this one!

Yeah, I know it’s just eye candy, but you have to admit, it would be cool to see these things incorporated into some storyline mission.

Very cool find. I wish they’d make some more of these nifty deadspace things permanent attractions scattered around, and integrate them into the lore somehow.

You know, I’ve seen that a few times and never quite made the connection to our EVE druid. /me hangs head in shame.

This structure also exists in a static site "Devils Dig" in Otitoh in The Forge.
